Sounds very negative about Prima. I've been there long time ago, was not bad.

Kampung is OK though, they're still having mixed style of Malaysian, Singaporean and a bit of Shanghainese taste.
I do love their roti prata with curry chicken.

worth a try.

Is Rendezvous any good after they changed the chef?

foodcoma...
I am not a malaysian or singaporean....although lived in Sinagpore for 3 years. Used to love Rendezvous when i lived in Kerry a couple of years ago..
Got totally disgusted and stopped going a year ago when they changed management and chefs.

Went again for lunch Monday.
How anyone who call themselves a Singaporean place can butcher Nasi Lemak so thoroughly and completely is beyond me......

Chicken Wings (2) OK...these were edible
Rice - glutinous mass, not so good
Fried Egg - Ok....edible
Sambal Sauce - I have no idea what this was on my plate, but it WAS NOT sambal
Fish - Used to be a fried fish in the old days. I stopped going when they switched to a processed fish loaf thingy in a bannana leaf. Thought that was bad until this week....What should be a fried fish, was a "fishball" normally served in soup....sliced up.
Dried Fish and Peanuts on the side. covered in some strange red powder.

The coffee was hot.

38rmb

(sigh)

I did soooo hope to have a decent Malay/Singapore place around P66.

I've been in Shanghai for 3 years, and I'm ashamed to say, never knew there were THAT many Singaporeans here!

Maybe we should organize a meeting of some kind?

Crossroad? They are closed now at Gubei Carrefour - towards the end service + food went right downhill.

Ash: Due to the strong winds ytd, din feel like going to figure out where Kampung is exactly located at. I know its pretty near Gubei Carrefour, prob will get there in the next couple of days...

My Nonya seems to be a franchise? In tat case, maybe I will also try it at Gubei Carrefour instead of going to Dagu Lu

May I ask where's Frankie's place?

Ytd, I went to Rendezvous again...curry chicken's edible but the curry puff sucks...

Don't think My Nyonya is a franchise and as far as I know, they only have one branch on Dagu Lu.

Carrot cake. The bak kut teh store opposite Cloud Nine offers damn good carrot cake. better than some of those in Singapore.

Hokkien Mee. Frankie is the best so far. That's because they have authentic sambal chilli. Too bad no lard.

Can anyone give me the directions to the Bah Kut Teh store in Zhongshan Park? Heard it's good. Does it serve other Singaporean dishes besides bah kut teh? Smile

Assuming the front of Cloud Nine is facing the metro. Go to the back. You should see a large 4-5 storeys shopping complex. It is at the ground floor of the shopping complex facing the back of Cloud Nine.

There serve many other types of food including Chi Char.

Must try the bak kut teh. The Bak Kut is tender and juicy. Yummy.
