| Post subject: Has anyone ever done the Lupu Bridge Climb at night? |
I didn't even know about this attraction, but there was a blurb about the climb on pg. 62 of the March 27 - April 9 issue of City Weekend. The Shanghai Climb site mentions the admission of 100yuan during the day, but the article mentions that you can do this for free after hours. You need to take the elevator to the top ... which I'm assuming they don't shut down after hours. I have some visitors coming to Shanghai this month and I was thinking of doing the climb during sunset which would be after hours since it closes at 4:00pm. Just wondering how the day/night views are from those that have done it.

uh, if you read that articel carefully I think they said to ask a taxi driver to stop and drop you off ON THE BRIDGE! not exactly legal i think but could be an adventure for visitors...maybe you will get a tour of the administrative detention facilities as well. |

yeah, I saw that article as well. I think best to find it late night when the traffic is much easier for the cab to pull aside.... |

What do you want to do, get a knife, climb up and cut your very own section of smog out and take it home? |

actually a bunch of my friends went up the lupu bridge recently because they read an article in a magazine too. turns out the cops were waiting for them at the bottom of the bridge and they got 'arrested'. either way it all turned out okay and they weren't kept in the station for more than 24 hours. |

Anyone else with experiences? Is this real or unlikely?
I read the article and wanted to do it too, but don't want to be bothered wasting any time dealing with police. LoL at "it all turned out ok" together with "weren't kept in teh station for more than 24 hours." |

Did the bridge climb this weekend. pretty cool. they say it's only the 2nd bridge climb in the world. We got out of the taxi at zhongshan nan lu and luban lu and walked towards the bridge towers. 68RMB per person right now and hardly any people. It's open 10am-4pm - give it a go! |
