Post subject: Hotel Cebu

I'm about to book tickets to Cebu thanks to Cebu Pacific. http://www.cebupacificair.com/

Now comes the question about the hotel.

I wish to book something well located (I mean near the beach). For the rest I don't care.
This above mentioned website proposes hotel in:
- cebu city
- cebu badian
- cebu sogod
- cebu mactan island

Is there anyone to recomend a raisonable location. I have never been there, I just want to relax for 5 days, doing nothing...

I stayed in Badian for a few days after Xmas last year. It was a really beautiful spot but the three hour journey from the airport would put me off going there again.

Mactan is the place to stay, the Shangri La is there and its right next to the airport. Cebu City is pretty squalid as I remember but the island (Mactan is OK).

Thanks for your replies. What I am scared about is:
- to hear the planes since hotels are 10km away from the airport
- not to have any nice beaches

As mentioned by spandex, I don't want to move away from Mactan because I have no time. 5 days is ultra short.
