Can I use my Bank of America ATM card in Shanghai and do they charge a fee? Does it have to be a BOA ATM machine to not get charged a fee and where are the BOA ATM machines in Shanghai? |

There are no BoA ATMs that I have ever seen.
BoA has an agreement for fee-free withdrawls from China Construction Bank. |

Yea, use Construction Bank ATMs; sometimes they limit how much you can withdraw to like RMB 1500 though in case you get a message that it doesn't work when you're at the machine. I found that out by trial and error.
Anyone know if you can buy money orders in China? I thought the fee for wiring money was exorbitant at about US$65 just to send US$2000, and including that they still took fees out during the xfer. |

Never found a limit of just 1,500 RMB. More often than not it ranfes between 2 - 3k RMB per withdrawl, but you can make multiple withdrawls. Since there are also limits set by the card issuer, likely you are holding a sub-prime BOA card.
I routinely wire money to the USA and have never paid anywhere near $65 for a wire transfer. Using ICBC's online banking, you can wire to the US for 110 RMB. If you go into the branch to perform the same operation, it's about 180 RMB. Wire transfers at BOC are similarly priced.
You can buy a cashiers check at BOC for about 60 RMB. |

Anyone having issues withdrawing BofA money from China Construction Bank ATMs lately? I was able to do it about a week ago, but when I tried recently, one day the "Withdraw" button didn't show up, and the next day it tried bringing up my account for over a minute and then failed. I called BofA but the customer rep said my account looks normal, not on hold or anything. |
