Hi,
does anyone know if GuanXi is free, other than text cost? Do you need to pay a service fee monthly?

Guanxi is free to the useer but costs something to the place you are looking up so if I were to look up a place multiple times just to get the address of phone number and then just visit once, the retailer would need to pay a fee for every inquiry I made. So basically our convenience costs us in teh long run. |

No, its available on all networks. Basically you text the name of a location and it will send back the address in English, you can then reply C to this text and you will get the address in Chinese. If you have a Chinese phone then its very handy as you can show the taxi driver the address.

So do you type in the name of the location and then all 85880? And wait for another message to reply to? |

Type in the place you are looking for, say O'Malleys(bar) and send the text to 85880. Provided the location has subscribed to Guanxi then you should get a reply text giving all matching locations, if there is only one then they will send the address. |

I'd assume your phone number is also added to the "relevant lists" -- did you notice any increase in SMS SPAM? |

zhongl, instead of spamming with the same message and link in multiple threads, perhaps you could provide some information relevant to the thread? like what are the costs? Your website has no information about that.
I do, however, like that when I search for something, it gives me the "VENUS NAME". But no phone number in the search results on the website. I guess you have to pay for the usable info... |

It only works if the venue you request has subscribed, right? Then their database must be very limited. |
