Post subject: Karaoke in Shanghai?

Looking for proper Karaoke bar/club in Shanghai, ok proper meaning something without too many hookers. A large bar where you sing in front of the whole place. Anybody got any suggestions? And please don't tell me about the "KTV" scene I can read that on other threads. Has anyone been anywhere half descent lately?

The club thats in Fuxing Park, not Park 97, the other one, a year or two ago, had people who would volunteer to karaoke on stage, not sure if they still do it now, basically its like "stand-up comedy" but karaoke style.

Cashbox and Haoledi are the most sing sing KTV bars out there. Also 2 by Xujiahui on Tianyaoqiao lu and Xin Geng that jenming can tell yo the name of.

Cashbox has at least 4 locations around town, the most popular being the Fuxing Park one, and also one on Wulumuqi lu close to Yan'An. A new one opened up across the stadium, around the corner of Tianyaoqiao lu and Xietu lu.

In all these there are NO hookers unless you bring your own.

a large bar, however, I don't know...Most of these places just have private rooms, albeit big ones where you can sing on a stage.
