Post subject: Hangzhou airport <-> Shanghai downtown

I've found a lot of info on how to get from PVG directly to Hangzhou, but I want to go from Shanghai downtown to Hangzhou airport (and back again).

Is this very inconvenient? I searched and found the exact topic here, but it was 3 years old.

The reason is that I want to fly from Shanghai <-> KL, malaysia. If I use Hangzhou instead of PVG its about 1400RMB cheaper.

Thanks

Did it in February this year. Take the train from Shanghai South Railway station, the fast train takes 80 minutes. Then a taxi from Hz train station to the airport, about 20 - 30 mins and cost about 65 rmb. There are also regular shuttle buses between Hz train station and the airport. There are other options too but this worked for me.

Are you carrying many luggages with you?
If not you could consider taking train from shanghai south railway station to hangzhou then take shuttle bus from the railway station to airport.
Another option will be to take a taxi but I'm not sure how much it will cost. Just for reference going from downtown to PVG costs about 200 RMB so imagine how much it would cost to go from downtown to HZ Airport.

If you check AirAsia website lately, you will find that AirAsia is providing shuttle transport from HZ airport to Shanghai (stop around Nanpu Bridge).

http://www.airasia.com/site/ch/en/destinationCity.jsp?id=&reference=HG H&property=dynAirport

Fare RMB100 one way.

Apparently, the shuttle bus waits for the AirAsia flight into HZ. So no worries if there is delay.
