Chris,
Mok has all the details, but I think it's just a rmb100 buy in now, players keep everything. We've got the chips, etc. We're about a 10min walk from LinPing Lu in a restaurant/shopping complex called Hi-Shanghai. We're a sports bar with 6 pool tables and a good beer menu (plenty of Belgian/German brews). www.wunderbar.cn has all the details. Take care, FV

Just want to clarify...so there is no rake right? The 100 that goes to the 'tab' can all be used towards drinks/food?

Thanks

No rake. 100 goes to whatever you want to use it for inside the restaurant.

2262 Hong Qiao Lu (next door to Marriot Hotel Hong Qiao)

Had a great time playing poker last night at Red Beat. 100 buy in, with an option to a second and last buy. More than 10 people played, I was up to around 300 but lost in an all in move.... he had a low straight, i had a pair king, the river killed me. They were still playing at 11, when i left.

there was 5 of us and I went all in at 11.30 and lost. We both had 2 x Jacks but he had an ace kicker. I imagine they went till past midnight.....i was too tired to continue.
Next time, we really should raise the pot because 1 and 2 chips blinds takes too long. Some people have to work on Monday mornings.

I think the pot was 2,000 Y.

I am sure i will join when i get back..

1. wunderbar
2. beaver lounge
3. bubba's

as i live near gubei, wunderbar bit far away, not looking for anything serious or for big stakes, just a laugh, few beers, talk some crap and maybe not lose my house.

also interested in a private game if anyone know's of any

I haven't seen a game at Spot since Pauly left, I thought the Poker all migrated to Racks.

There is a game on Thursdays at Melrose Pizza on Heng Shan apparently, although I haven't been yet.

Oliver's game is the Beaver Lodge. It is run by Alan who also runs expatpoker.com

Be careful though, one place (Max's) was recently raided, and all cash in the place was confiscated, the owners also facing some jail time.

Post subject: Live Poker Games?

Hey guys, I just recently moved to Shanghai from the states. I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the poker situation here. I was browsing through the site and found some interesting posts but not really any information I was looking for. I want to find a decent NL HE cash game with buyins from 500-4000RMB. I am hoping to find a game for every night of the week but I'll take what I can get. Hope I can get some help! You can pm me or email me at adamxiyu.yang@gmail.com. Anyhow appreciate the time guys, take it easy!

Adam

Off the top of my head - Racks (some evenings), Bubba's (weekend), Melrose Pizza (wed)
I think iLoveShanghai was doing poker at one point too.

There are some real money games with >5k minimums, but you need to know people.
