Post subject: Exchange student question
Is it possible for a local Chinese kid to study as an exchange student in the US for longer than 1 year?

As far as I know, there's a 1 year limit in an exchange program.

Exchange students are usually for one year but you can enroll as a degree-seeking student and stay longer. Are you going for high school or university?

A friend is going into 10th grade this coming Fall, but is considering a longer term. Studying as an high school exchange student seems to be a much cheaper option than a boarding school. I'm assuming he'll pay at least 30k usd per year at a boarding school.
