Post subject: Where can I learn more about calligraphy, etc

Here's hoping someone can help.

Either I cannot search at all or these lessons just do not exist - I'm looking for lessons in calligraphy, making silk knots (what does one call it?), painting with water colours, embroidery. In short, any kind of lessons which would impart some kind of Chinese folk art knowledge.

Am I looking for a needle in a haystack or does someone have advice?

Thanks in advance

Lize

here are some ok calligraphy sites that I know of, for some self study.

http://library.thinkquest.org/3614/drawing.htm

http://www.zein.se/patrick/chinen9p.html

http://www.art-virtue.com/tutorial/index.htm

They're pretty decent. I'm sure a Google search would turn up a bunch more.

As for lessons, there was something posted in the classifieds....

Not sure about the other stuff.

I think the Community Center sometimes offers these classes.
