| Post subject: Shall i buy a new TV? |
Hello,
I am due to move to Sanghai from hk in a few weeks. I have a lovely sony HD 28'' tv that i purchased here in honkers and my question is should I bring it over or sell it and buy one in Shanghai? Will the import tax be huge? if i should sell can i buy one in Shanghai? Can I get the big brands in the stores there? (i know they will be expensive)
Appols if this has been covered elsewhere but I have searched the forum a few times and not found the answer to this.
thanks |

was in HK 3 weeks ago , and compared prices for HDTV's .. HK is Slightly more expensive when you compare the prices directly, but RMB is more worth more than HK$ nowadays so it end up the same , didn't try to negotiate for prices though, generally , mid range stuff is the same price , high end stuff you get it cheaper , if it's not imported from europe US.
In HK you get better Warranty and Service, so if you stay in HK better get one there. |

You can get a 42 inch hdtv for a very competitive price, even 52's are well priced........we have Best Buy and also Carrefour supermarkets are quite competitive........buy it here, don't bring it over, they will find any excuse to charge you duty and that cr*p............ |
