Hi - just joined this forum, I'm not sure how to go about this, my apologies if I have posted this question on the wrong message board, I have 2 school going kids (age 9 and 6) which will need primary education when they arrive, their mandarin is non-existent but the point is for them to learn as they have been living in Aust for the past 2 years - we are Malaysian. Could anyone in a similar situation please PM me on this? We do not have any education allowance and cannot afford the international schools.... Thanks so very much.

He is a Chinese national but needs an experience English tutor to teach Primary 6 English, Maths and Science using the Singapore syllabus. The materials will be provided. He is looking for someone who is able to commit for a year, 3 times a week, from 5pm to 6:30pm. The rate is about RMB200 per hour.

Good money but no takers. Weird, no one replied me.

Is your son tutor a foreigner? Do you mind telling me how you find a tutor for your son?

hello

i am a single singaporean female who have been in shanghai for slightly more than a year.

have some singaporean female friends who are either married with kids or into majong.. which unfortunately does not interest me that much.

are there single female singaporeans who would like to meet up for nasi lemak, hor fun or shopping in huai hai road over weekends? (wherever is good) i know some few other singaporean males and females, mostly single who may want to join.

we dont want to talk about childcare or ayi lah... just the single person stuff...

apologies to mums and marrieds - if you are wanting a day off without kids and husbands in tow.. please write it here.

a friend of mine says i am boring...

i guess its the company... my usual kakis are back home.. so shopping, eating and just yakking away isnt the same anymore.

perhaps some new friends with similar interests will do me some good.. at least find a reason to get out of that sofa on weekends ..

its good to be somewhere close to home on this thread Very Happy

It may be the first time you noticed, but he's not the first guy to post on this thread.

Hi gals ... sorry, been MIA for a while. And a warm welcome to the new gals.

karinalee: I hope you'll be able to find like-minded people through this thread. Keep an open mind and I'm sure you'll be able to make more friends than you ever imagined over here. I know what you mean about things somehow being different here as compared to being with your kakees back home. But sometimes, new friends give you new perspectives. For example, you may start taking up certain new activities through meeting these new friends that you never did back home. And right now, it's a good opportunity. There are also some single singaporeans/malaysians in this other thread: http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/index.php?name=MDForum&file=viewtopic&t=5 8225&highlight=

New gal: Hi there ... how long have you been here already? Settled down yet?
