| Post subject: Direct Flights form PuDong to Bangkok |
Does anyone know of any direct flights from Pudong to Bangkok? I keep getting Air India, China Southern and China Eastern. No offence but I want Thai Air or Cathay or one of the big guns. Anyone have any information? Cheers. |

Yes Thai Air fly but they're not that great. I would hardly describe them as big guns. Cathay is a HK based airline I doubt they fly anywhere from the mainland other than HK. |

Thai Air is your best choice . Cathay only flies code shares with Dragon, plus you'd have to go via Hong Kong |

Avoid Air India to BKK. Did that once and that was enough! Broken toilet doors, smelly cabin, bad food and very late arrival in BKK. |

Yes that happens sometimes so you take your chances. I didn't think China Southern was that bad but yes the flight times are not very nice usually leaving BKK around 2am which is nasty. |

^ No need to take chances...
Air India is the cheapest ticket.
Look at their schedules online and copmare with Thai Air....pretty easy to figure out which 3 flights a week are code shared....
There are early morning flights from BKK...I usually take the 0145 though...hate to lose the day.
Land and go to work... |

I think the AirIndia flight (run by AI) to Bangkok doesn't exist any more as their Shanghai - New Delhi flight which used to go through BKK is a non stop now. So only one you find now is the code share with TG. |

I take China Southern often and no major issue even if it fly at 1.55am from BKK. The only unbearable one should be some C guys took off their shoes for fresh air... |

Direct flights are with MU (China Eastern) and Thai. I travel this route at least monthly and have tried all flights. MU is usually a bit cheaper, but the service is very spotty - sometimes quite ok, other times horrible. Planes sometimes ok, often real old... Thai is ok... I had always expected great service in a Thai airline, but it's actually just ok, not more. Planes are usually Airbus 330 (old seating), though they've also had their A340 (new seating) or 747 (old seating) at times, I guess due to demand. I flew Thai this weekend, price was RMB 5200 including taxes etc. |
