Shanghai - Huangshan - Hangzhou

Post subject: Shanghai - Huangshan - Hangzhou

Hi guys!

My wife and I are planning on visiting China early August.

We want to spread our stay in 3 places but are finding logistics a little tough.

First 4 nights in Shanghai (either Eton hotel or Grand Hyatt). Hangzhou & Huangshan each a night.

The problem is so far we are only able to either:

a) go from Shanghai to Hangzhou by D train,spend a night then take a (3~4? hour) bus trip to Huangshan. Spend a night then return by either
i- going directly by bus from Huangshan to Shanghai
ii- taking the bus to Hangzhou then D train to Shanghai
iii- take a flight from Huangshan to Shanghai at 0930 pm.
Its a long wait from the time we descend Huangshan to the time we fly out. How many hours are we looking at (from descending to boarding)

The above scenarios are very tiring!

or

b) go from Shanghai to Huangshan by air, but spend a night in Tunxi because the plane arrives at 0930pm, then ascend Huangshan the next day and either spend a night there or descend the very same day and move on to Hangzhou. But this scenario will be giving us little time on Huangshan & a night wasted in Tunxi (we have no fancy for Tunxi).

Any ideas will be very appreciated.
