Post subject: Need reliable contractor experienced w/old lane houses

Hi all,
We just moved into our lane house but the renovations apparently weren't well done. It seems that our walls were not waterproofed before repainting so now the walls have damp spots and we've discovered several leaks. Sad

Our landlord is willing to cover the cost of repairs if we can find a reliable contractor. We don't want to use hers cause he's the one who did the renovation in the first place and neglected to treat the walls.

Can any lane house owner suggest a contractor they've worked with? We've received our first quote and looking for others.

i know a uncle who works as a contractor, but he speaks mandarin, is that ok. but i am not sure he is good or not.

OK.............I'm a bit board at the moment but this post just made me laugh Laughing

So the OP has a lane house in the FC and want some work done by "someone that knows what they are doing on this style of property"............so in comes a spammer and offers the services of his/her uncle who doesn't know if he is any good or not........ Laughing

Uh, wouldn't you be better served trying to find the source(s) of the leaks and fixing those vs. masking the problem ? WAIT...... This Is China, scratch all that.

slightly funny, ok

this guy does most of the old houses you see in the former french concession.

Leo Ke. pretty famous, good company and quality work, don't think for an old house you can go any better.
BUT, depending on how much you got to get done, I don't know if he's the right one for just some plumbing jobs.
