| Post subject: Any petlovers willing to babysit my poodle? |
Dear all,
I'm from Malaysia and plan to ship my poodle here with me. unfortunately my current job, as an auditor may require me to travel extensively. I've try to figure out some solutions on this matter eg. like asking ah yi to take care of her during my absence or boarding her at pet's hotel. Yet, i have some concerns such as the Ah Yi may not be trustworthy if i pass her my house key or she or the pet's hotel may not treat my dog well . I think the best way is to look for someone who love dog as much as i, and willing to temporary babysit my poodle when i'm away from SH.
I hope there is someone from the forum who can lend me a hand on this matter, else i may not ship my baby here with me as it's really unbearable for me if she suffers when i'm not around . I'll provide dog food and her accessories. The longest period i'm out for job is 3 weeks. Anyone interested pls leave me a message ya! |

Where in Shanghai are you based? Much cheaper to ask your dog friendly ayi to help you look after your furkid. Kennels are nice but quite far away from civilisation in Pudong.
Is your dog dog-friendly also? |

we have a Golden and she allways stays home when we travelling.
Ayi take good care of her, I ask her to come one hour in morning, to play, to feed her, and then back again in the afternoon.
And we know when our dog is having a good care. |

That certainly doesn't work with my dogs. Ichi is easy to become frustrated when he is left home home. He likes to vent his frustration by tearing up our bed sheets. Therefore we never left him home alone when travelling. I just send him to the pet shop next to our apartment. Ichi won't have a great life there but for sure there are ppl taking care of him.
BTW iara, where did you get the dog cage? We will take our dogs through Air Canada. Is there any restritions on the size or weigh of the cage? One dog is 5kgs and Ichi is 10 kgs. |

hi, sorry, we live in JinQiao,JingAn is too far away for her!
but I have tons of friends with ayis that really like dogs.
Lemongrass, I stop looking for the cage, cause we are staying in Shanghai for at least 3 more years
but I saw small ones in the petshop I take my dog for grooming.
not expensive, around 200rmb.
I'm sure that they can get medium size if you need it.
It's Pola Pets, just near Seasons Villas.
If the dog cage is a IATA one, there's no restrictions for AirCanada, and is the cheapest way to fly with dogs, cause you just pay a tax, us$250 I think, and that's it.
other airlines charge you per kilo! |

Lucky you iara!! Our plan remains the same. I have only done the first step for the dogs. Will have to bring them to Shen Pu for the health check in about 2 weeks. Hopefully both of them will pass with no problem. Thanks for the info anyway. i will check it out. |

If you ever visit Paradise Kennel, which is the best dog boarding hotel in Shanghai, you might change your mind. Lots of expats who used to board their dogs in western vets, pet stores, other kennels or stay with their ayis, have become our regular customers.

You don't sound as grumpy as your cat, how's that? |

Something people should SERIOUSLY consider or disclose is whether your pets are potty trained or not, babysat for a friends dog one time and it was literally a shite and piss manufacturing MACHINE !!!! |
