Hi
Two weeks ago, I started my internship in a big company that sell luxurious products. I wanted to have a professional experience in Shanghai, but I think I made the wrong choice. I learn things like secretary stuff, such as looking for our customers gift ideas. My boss wants to offer gift to our best clients, so for us to keep their loyalty. I was thinking about alcohol and food delivery service, which would be quiet easy and fast. But since there are lots of e-commerce over here, I'd like to know if you have some advise for me. According to your experience, which companies gave you satisfaction regarding the quality of their products and service?
Many thanks for your help.

Teanuanua
You should probably start this question in a another topic of its own as it has little to do with the topic of this thread.

www.qs-expressshop.com

This company delivers fresh meat, cheese and cured meats. I have ordered from them a few times and can vouch for the freshness of their meats and cheeses.

SHbite

Another Mealbay/Sherpa's clone.

Not many restaurants in there but just ordered from that newish curry house in Taikang Lu.

Price for delivery starts at 10RMB based on 3km. Waiting with anticipation.

According to Dial a Meal they do also. But alas, they do not. How could they be so misleading!!! in China or all places.

The prices on my browser have a UK Pound sign next to them.

OK, their restaurants..

1 - Yeehas. Haha. This place HAD potential, then the local owner decided he knew what people wanted better than his foreign Manager. Place is a train wreck.

2 - Le Equilles. Never heard of it, looks a bit local menu though. Reserve judgement

3 - Lotus Indian - again, never heard of it, but the first things i see on this INDIAN restaurant's menu is Tomato soup and Hot & Sour Soup. NEXT!!!!!

4 - Macau Portugese Restaurant. OK, i live right next door to this place. This joint is about as Macau as i am, and my last name is RYAN!!. Walked in there once, saw their authentic Portugese menu included Spaghetti Bolognese and Hamburgers, walked straight out. With more authentic items such as strogonoff on the menu, they can pretty much go blow as far as i'm concerned. These knobs had a chance to put a restaurant that is a bit different, in a booming area and missed the mark by a mile. WAKE UP.

5 - Fusion Restaurant & Bar. Is this a licence to serve mish mash or what?

6 - Thai Riffic. Just wanted to mention the name. Menu looks good, worth a try.

7 - Beer. 10rmb for a supposedly 396ml Tsing Tao. I'm guessing that is yet another Smile up on their website, as the normal tsing tao brown bottle is in fact 296, not 396 ml.

I might offer myself as a spell/chinglis checker on this website, but i'm afraid i don't have 40 hours per week to spare.

Anyway, another ORIGINAL (Not) idea in putting a restaurant home delivery service in China, done half arsed. For me, the original is still the best, the rest have a LONG way to go.

Well its competition mate, more the merrier i say, delivery arrived 1 hour later, I even got a surprise call from one of their operators to say the DB is 5 mins away.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was surprisingly good for SH must pop down to that Lotus Indian sometime which is near THE SHED but yeah tomato soup got me confused as well.

That and Thai Riffic are probably the only ones that i will use.

Oh man, they have that Imix place on Julu as one of their restaurants. I went there once - possibly the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Absolutely shocking...

And now my spyware protection is going mental blocking stuff from their website - wonderful!

Excellent thread!

Tried out bebemamie's yoghurt and it's very nice. Finally something with no sugar!

Also the cheese makers I'd like to give a try.

Now to some (relevant) self-marketing: well, just see below Smile

Looking forward to some feedback!

Post subject: grocery delivery

there's a new online grocery store that specializes in organic foods and produce that delivers. I tried them out once so far and products were came well-packed and clean. here's their website:

www.mylocalstore.cn and their ordering number is 400-820-8025

i've heard of another grocery delivery system but haven't tried it out called smartdirect and feidan. I know Feidan has and actual store near just grapes.
