Yes beer drinking is the best Prague sightseeing. In the Andel district, a short tram/metro journey from the centre, you have the Staropramen brewery which does tours. Right by it is a great Staropramen pub with their full range of beers including an amazing unfiltered lager. Pretty good food too.

Address: Pivovary Staropramen, Nádražní 84 in Prague 5

You can also find great little drinking holes selling Pilsner Urquell and Budvar on almost every back street.

Last year the likes of Gambrinus, Urquell and Budvar were about US$1 for a pint at these friendly neighborhood places...amazing food if you're into the meat and taters.

This has me thinking of an October holiday trip!

I've been a few times. A few weeks ago I went to visit the missus who is working in Nuremberg for a couple of months. I had three days drinking in Bavaria then drove to Prague and had two days drinking there. I didn't want to come back.

Scratch that October trip! The exchange rate last year was about CK22=US$, now it's 15! That $1 beer now costs an outrageous $1.50!
