Post subject: Watching the games

I'm interested in following my home country's progress (Australia). But I assume that CCTV will be more interested in following Chinese athletes (duh!) Is there a bar/something where an australian channel will be showing our progress?

Watched it on ICS last night but the problem was that all three commentators were reading the same script and therefore sometimes speaking at the same time or trying to finish each others sentences which was pretty annoying.

Tried to access Australian radio 2GB via the web to listen in English but it like other official broadcasters can only transmit within their boarders. If any one knows of an English internet radio station that can be accessed here let me know.

Australia won 2 bonus golds at the opening ceremony last night: Most ugly team and worst outfits. I'm all for equal opportunities but letting a blind man design your outfits - bizarre.

Is it legal for Chinese stations to broadcast events where the Chinese team doesn't win?

Just found this useful page on the Shanghai Daily website http://olympics.shanghaidaily.com/tv.asp that provides CCTV program scheduling.

Ok forget what I just posted above, it seems to be a waste of time as it doesn't relate at all to what's currently being shown of TV.

For me the biggest problem is I do not know which is live and which is recorded. Sometimes they show live but its obviously recorded, sometimes is obviously live but they do not show it

Does China have a beach volleyball team? I'd like to support China by watching their next or previous matches.

did you all hear about the little girl at the opening ceremony being chosen for her looks and mimng skills whilst the actual singer did the "voice over"? Apparently the giant footprint fireworks were computer imposed (though they did actually happen) - doesn't surprise me that - never seen a helicopter travel that fast before! Kind of reminds of the Olympics, cant remember which, then the torch was supposed to be lit by an athlete with a bow and flaming arrow but missed, so they ignited by remote control - haha. What's London gonna do I wonder? I reckon a giant Zippo lighter
