I can't believe this statement comes from some supposedly well-bred and worldly person. But, I hate fur because they smell and makes me sick. Using the same logic, people who like furs also wouldn't give a quirm about eating a caged live monkey's brains in Guangzhou. And this is for REAL !
Gross, you may think, but this is one part of Chinese culture. Just walk into the local markets, you can tell this kind of practice happens everyday, maybe not so gruesome, but enough to turn one's stomach...... And it's often said genes are hardwired into the system----whether you are a local or overseas Chinese, someone is going to inherit the nasty traits.
Anyway, I am so disgusted, but you know what, I knew how to deal with the unfeeling bastards for so long that whenever they whine about some kind of misfortunes on TV, I just turn it off and walk away. Don't expect one penny from my Piggy Bank. That is it. Period !I |

I love fur, but I have the feeling the OP does not know what it means. Nothing wrong with a few pieces of A grade fur LOL. |

It depends on what kind of fur it is.
Wearing fur from an animal which is already slaughtered because of the meat is all fine. It's actually a good thing not to let things go to waste. This is commonly seen among nomads in cold areas, and it's nothing wrong at all.
However, I'm really against fur when it comes from an animal which is obviously slaughtered just because of the fur and worn because it's "beautiful", not because it's cold. In my opinion wearing fur for this reason is just a display of VERY low moral standards.
I can understand that some people NEED to wear fur, because they live in a place where it's very very cold, but to wear fur because it's beautiful is just so wrong. Makes me want to puke. |

Leather and fur FTW.
I bought my wife a leather backpack yesterday, very nice... A fur backpack - now that sounds interesting. I'll keep my eye out. |

i think being green is too much of a fashion statement these days.
fur makes women feel like a million dollars but not every woman suits!
now here comes my wiered bit: i have recently spent 10 days in eastern greenland, i feel sad that the inuiit has lost their old way of living, discarded the stone house and adapted into danish wooden coloured house (one burnt down right in front of my eyes)
people also prefer imported western boots and winter jackets. and lost their old way of using animal skin to make canon/kayakes/clothes etc...
you see people use to be smarter with the enviroment, they hunt the animal and eat every single bit of the animal body and preserve their skin/memberane tissue for housing/transport and clothes. now we farm animals just for their fur. |

Been to one recently.....Grossed me out, to say in the least..... The worse part comes when they mounted the dead man onto the dead horse----all skinned "alive" and they showed the darn thing on the side....like where is the part u've got the thickest.....
Now come out of that Exhibition, I probably won't give a damn about sewing some dead men's skin into a jacket........mwuhaaaaaaaa.... |

Nice.............in this case, then I will take my picks......I'll take it from the Hairy Western dude as "fur", the smooth Asian ones as "leather".
