Get in touch with Big Bamboo. They have the best tables (professional ones), that if not mistaken was provided by Fred, a guy that used to play in the world championship, really nice fella. I think Fred is gone now though.

Pebolim!

But are you one of Fred's pupils?

Do you know how to do the Snake Move (tm) ?

He is the Yoda of Foosball, -great- guy!

By the way, I hereby challenge you for a match at the beaver.

Prize: Carpe Cerevisi patches Wink and a t-shirt

Fred's still here. You can find and contact him on Facebook (Fred Gower).
I'm out of China this month and don't have his contact info with me.
We've had 1 of his tables for over a year and it's still in great shape.

No, he kind of invited me and a mate down to one of his training sessions a long time ago but I never went.

Actually I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but a few weeks ago I played against Fred, 10-0 to him, fair enough the guy's on a different level to me. But then I play against one of the guy's he coaches and Fred is in this guy's ear the whole time:

"Show no emotion. Exploit the weakness, that's the way"

I found it really rude and annoying.

Anyway the Beaver is always a winner for the weekend!

Now that's funny! Guess that's what happens when you spend a gajillion hours hanging out in bars while mastering your "sport".

It's taking it a bit seriously isn't it? See also the fact he carries a little bottle of oil from bar to bar to lubricate the poles, and wears rubber things on his wrist to get a faster snake shot.

Meh I'm just jealous, I've never come close to beating the guy.

Post subject: Hail Fred!

I agree, Fred was a really nice dude. He was a great player too. I believe him and his wife have moved to the US.

Theres also an American owner of Wunderbar who had some really nice foosball tables (Tornadoe's) I think.

The table in Big Bamboo is great well.

Cheers

There's an understatement for you! A bit like Yao Ming dunking over some school kids on the playground, and then taunting them afterwards.

No need to be jealous of that.

hi, the place is inside Shanghai Stadium, on front the duty free shop, in the corner of where you can take the tourist bus.

- Shanghai Longsheng Billiards
you can call Cindy Tao , she speaks some english (she came later, but I handle everyhting with another chinese woman, very nice indeed, that tried to understand my poor chinese)

phone:64265098

www.slscy.com
www.shscy.com

that's what I have in their business card.

I payed 3200rmb for the table, the best they had there, but theres another one that cost 2200rmb and a very simple one for 800rmb.
and they delivered in the same day!

enjoy it!

In case this helps.

I've been shopping around for a foosball table and have encountered a wide range of pricing. A friend of mine just sent over her search results on Taobao, prices there seem substantially cheaper. You will need Chinese language skills to use the site - or a friend with said skills.

Alternatively, if the language issue proves to be a barrier, you could use the pricing you see on a Taobao site as a negotiating lever (I found a table from a store in Shanghai priced at RMB1900, same table in Taobao for RMB1000.

Good Luck!
