Dear All,

Do you have any good company to advice with top service on Dedicated Server in Hong Kong.

The target is to get fast speed from China to HK and good speed from Europe to HK.

Thanks,

Shanghaiexpat hosted in HK. HK is not under mainland jurisdiction on this. Of course you need to keep your site relatively clean of hot issues, because it still can be blocked. for dedicated server in HK, contact Pang at sales_at_worria.com

Michael,

What do you mean, keep the website clean of host issues ?

Usually what's the process who lead to be blocked ?

Thanks

Hot issues.. things the gov does not want to allow access to in China. No process, but the hot issues.. porn.. free T1b3t, T@1w@n independ, F, Ļ; Ģ..are a few...certain words in their word filer causes a site to be blocked temporarily ( for few minutes if you try to access) . If they check it out and find big issues, it can be blocked longer term. Normal business sites usually do not have this problem. No way to tell what specifically causes it and no one really to contact if it is.

If the website is hosted in China, it is better to avoid to be blacklisted ?

Any good address in Shanghai for dedicated server ?

What about of the connectivity in Shanghai ?

If you host in China, you need an ICP license. Your provider can probably help you get it. If you have forum hosted in CHina, you may need an additional license. We tried to host in China at one point, but were very discouraged about performance of the data center (take your money.. paid one year upfront.. no support at all ) You may want to try http://computersolutions.cn/, who posts on this board. There are also a couple of other expats running hosting operation who can be found on this board.

Dear all,

Thanks for your answer.

So to summarize, it seems better to host in Hong Kong on a dedicated server right ?

Then, my website will have forum and comments system. So if i host in hong kong but i target chinese people, do i still need this registration ?

Thanks,

Fly

good and free hosting in the same sentence is an oxymoron.. you have to pay something.. cash..or either getting crowded onto a slow box with 10000 other accounts, or running their ads, or no php or databse access, and just generally not being available for problems. If you put the time into doing a site, you should get an account that works.

One things that seems to be an issue... decide if you want managed or if you want to manage it yourself. It will make a difference. If you want to manage. you or someone in your employ should really know a lot about linux, server security, etc... If you don't know that much about these things.. at least spring for decent control panel software to help you manage it.

So what are you going to use it for.. is it only going to be for your company use or are you going start hosting small sites? Like I said, we have had good luck in HK with our provider. We bought the license to the the control panel they use HSphere.. which has worked well.
