Can I ask some question?
What purpose this Coffee brunch meeting is set up for?
And what I can get from attending the meeting?
If I bring bakery there and give to you guys to have a taste , is it alright?
Because I have my own coffee shop in my country.
So I want to know people who interested in this business and can give me some advice or experience.

Sunday again and taking off to XTD.. rain has stopped so might have a window to get out with the boy. See you there.
Questions.. sure
Purpose was to have a consistent time and place every week for new Shanghaiexpat members to meet up face to face. It is informal, chat, ask and answer questions.. meet some folks.
In terms of what to talk about.. bring your idea and see what kind of feedback you get. |

Hello Michael,
we (my husband and I) were there yesterday between 1150 and 1240, but there didn't seem to be anyone identifiable there. Is it still ongoing? Where was everybody? We are new here and would have liked to meet a few people. Shame, but never mind. |

I was also there (from Noon to 1pm) and it seemed pretty dead save for some Chinese who wanted to practice English. I won't go again (been there two weeks in a row) |

^ Sometimes holiday coffee meets draw a slightly different crowd so I wouldn't give up on it quite yet. The sunday coffee is listed as between 12-3 but it seems many people show up during th later portion of the time period. ANyhow, the crowds tend to be different weekly and as it was a Sunday during a holiday, its likely many expats took off for family holidays and such. Michael and his family attend regularly so maybe message him prior next week to make sure, but he is usually there. |

Hi,
I note one of your rules in your coffee meet is not to talk business. I wonder if I can talk on health issue. I will be visiting Shanghai next week and would like to meet with English speaking people to share with them the way to a healthy immune system which is the key to good health. Judging by the forum on health issues, I am sure many of your members, especially those with children would be interested to learn how to keep sickness at bay. Especially with the recent health scare of the milk powder, avian flu, etc...
Perhaps you can arrange for the wives to come to our talk as follows.
Talks will be given on :
25 Sept 2008 – Thursday
Time At 4:00pm OR At 8:000pm

Subeide - just responding to your post. I came in just after 1 two weekends ago now. People come and throughout the period of the coffee meeting. The bullk of regulars usually show up after 1. When I was there, there 2 local chinese, 2 Americans of chinese ancestry, another canadian guy. a Brit, my wife who is chinese american, my son, and Lisa - our host and marketing staff who also happens to be chinese.
Attendance varies with the weather, how many other things are going on in the expat community, and the holiday schedule. Also recently, attendance has taken a hit with the change in visa policy and folks having to go back to their home country to process. We have had as few as 6 and as many at 30 recently.
MyHealth,.. its a good place to meet people and find out about living in Shanghai, but it s not a place to do presentations on your products. Its informal, so there is a not a structured topic discussion, |

Yep.. its still going. Some days we have a few .. some days we have quite a few. Its informal.. lots of different people show up. I will be there tomorrow ( Sunday ) about 1. .. come on out! |
