this sounds cool. this should be a regular event. I'd like to get more info like dates and times you guys meet. I'll try and drop by to have a feel of what a polyglot feels like. hahaha... but certainly, I'm not yet qualified to be considered as one.

Could I make a friendly suggestion which will hopefully result in getting more people to participate?
Change the name of the event.
Perhaps as a non-native English speaker, you may not realize how the term "polyglot" sounds to most Western ears; for me, it conjures up images of polygamists, strange newly discovered STD's and some little group of munchkins singing on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. "We're the polyglots! We love chocolate lots!.."
Call it a language exchange party or who knows.. 'you can't speak your native language night' or something that will help people A) feel comfortable (oh yeah, i'm a big dork, I just went to a POLYGLOT party...", and B) get what it is quickly.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks mate, actually this event was founded in Paris by two French guys, so might not be too clear about all the meaning of Polyglot.
But why we choose Polyglot is because it means People who can speak differnt languages.
Anyway, we will consider about your suggestion!! If we can find a better name.

Perhaps the "Cunning Linguists" event might work?

I will try to join you guys this Wednesday, but I don't have my dictionary. I left it home (thought it's just gonna add extra "unnecessary" weight to my luggage).
As for the name, Polyglot, I somehow understand where snippets is coming from. But I think the name is ok if not perfect. Just my opinion...
BTW, until what time do you guys stay there?

Polyglot- a person who east all the time and is too fat many times over
Polyglot- a one celled animal that looks like a polywog
Polyglot- a really badly picked name in English that sounds like a bad name a 2nd grader would call someone
