Post subject: Please change the learning language forum

I’d like to propose a change in the Learning Language forum. There is written: „Help someone learn a new language here..language tips, words, language partners Post here.“

Additionally Michael wrote: This forum is for discussion.. not for language school ads. Posting of advertising is out of hand in the language forum. Periodically we will check and move ( or remove ) any ads for language schools or language services. You can post your ads in the Doing Business- Announcement forum only. Anywhere else and they will be removed.

It would be nice if there could be a discussion about learning language but when one has a look it’s hard to distinguish posts with „language problems“ from advertisments for language classes or language partners (who quite often are professional teacher whom you’ll have to pay)

I prefer to post my language problems in the „Question and answer“ forum because there one get’s an answer! (If one is lucky and the post is not "banned" to the learning language forum Cool

There seem to be very few people (including myself) who bother to have a look at the „Learning Language“ section.

So I propose, first of all to DELETE the „hi. I’m a teacher blabla“ and „language class only 100 RMB“ posts more often and to make an additional section like „Language Partners“ - looking for a language partner, post here.

A couple of minutes I had a look at the first page and this is what I saw:

Arrow english speaker looking for a language partner
Arrow Word association game
Arrow Mandarin teacher with 3 years experience
Arrow Chinese seeking English speaking foreigner
Arrow translation for "dish sterilizer"
Arrow 50 rmb/hour BUSINESS/BASIC CHINESE tutor available
Arrow How to learn Shanghai dialect?
Arrow I am echo,Learn Chinese with me --only 70 RMB/45 minutes
Arrow Shanghainese lessons available?
Arrow Short-term summer courses in Mandarinmorning language center
Arrow New in town!
Arrow Anybody here speak Japanese?
Arrow Finding Language Partner( Chinese-English)
Arrow Can anyone recommend a professional tailor ?
Arrow Shanghainese, Cantonese, English <-> Korean
Arrow New beginner Chinese class on 8th Sep.2008
Arrow Rmb1000/40hours, afternoon class start on 22nd Sep. 2008
Arrow Mandarin tutor available

Thanks Smile
