Post subject: Wii - SSBB

Hi, I have bought a RMB5 SSBB which works fine when tested in the shop but cannot run on my Jap Wii. My Wii is from HK which was purchased last Sep/Oct. Could anyone help. Thanks.

Hi, further to above query, I have managed to get the japanese prompt translated. Apparently, the prompt is for firmware update. Should I update the firmware from the SSBB disc? Would it brick my console?

Hard to tell - I am guessing the ssbb was being played in a jap wii at the store? I bought ssbb recently and did the update on my jap wii and it worked fine and is english language. same with smg which didnt work in the past. I think they are actually japanese versions but wiht the dialogue changed. In SMG the dialogue doesnt fit in the boxes.

Only do updates on the same language CD as you are running.

eg if you have a jap wii, only do jap updates.

If in doubt run the disk clean utility to remove the firmware update, and reburn the disk. (With Wii Brick Blocker)

Be *very* careful if you get asked to update with a game disk. If you update and it screws up, your WII is bricked.

If you bought your WII last year, you might also need to download and install new wiikey firmware so it will play newer games (assuming you have a wiikey). Otherwise stuff like SSB or Galaxies won't work.

I'd suggest looking here:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/523776

and here

Read and digest, then act.

It may be Bleucheese - I seem to remember it having Zha Zha on the side or something. Anyways it is where Dazza said. Very good people. The SSBB did an update but it was ok - I was a little worried but was not too attached to my Wii at that stage - what was the point with no SMG or SSBB. I just kept saying that I had a Japanese Wii so did I need to buy the Japanese version as well and they kept saying no that is japanese version. I should have just trusted them

Word of warning - one of the games (either SSBB of SMG) semi bricked my wii. Didnt realise it at the time as I never go into my options - it being in Japanee and all.
Doing some research to find the newest japanese firmware game and will buy that.

Over at wikipedia - http://en.{WeeKeePeeDeeYa DOT org}/wiki/Super_Mario_Galaxy
It appears to have english versions..

And a check of the usual torrent sites shows english versions, so i'm calling bogus on that

The Zha Zha shop on Beijing Xi Lu/Jiao Zhou Lu definitely has English copies of both Mario Galaxy and Smash Brothers. I've bought them from that store in the last couple of weeks. They are numbered 208 and 209 respectively.

I was reading last week than an update with Maro Kart closes the bug that allows these language patched games to be played. I'm not sure if there is a work around for that yet.

Also, I've just seen that Mario Kart is out/leaked...

Post subject: Kareoke Revolution

I'm looking for karaoke revolution on wii as well. I asked at a store and they said you can't get the microphone in China so there's no point selling it. Does anyone know if it's possible to find?
