Post subject: Wheres the place to buy IT products?

Is the price good compared good? I can get a new 2.2ghz duo core for about 250 us with ram and all. minus the monitor.

Is it better to ship over or built one in china?

What about getting a PSU and chasis from there?

How much would a 15 - 17 inch CRT monitor or 17" lcd cost ?

what bout OS? is it available for cheap?

thanks

I build computers all the time, unless it is a HTPC. You could barely get anything for 250.

Maybe if you did onboard graphics, motherboard, 2 GB ram, harddrive, case.

China sells roughly US prices. If you just want a basic computer, buy a Asus Eee. Yet it getting more expensive because US money went down vs RMB.

If I was you I would bring the motherboard, RAM, CPU, Graphics Card and HD with you in your baggage. These items are very light and most will fit in the MB box. These items will be cheaper in the USA compared to here in Shanghai. I would bring the software withyou if you can, XP Pro and Office.

You can pick up a good brand case and 450w PSU for around 700rmb, cheaper if you want the cheapo made in china brands. A good LG or Samsung 17inch LCD start at 1800-2300rmb. Again you can get cheaper brands and models from 1500rmb.

Screw that. You can put a J6750 in your baggage and carry that over, it's not much more work and you can't get those here at all Razz

OS,CPU,MB,RAM,Graphics Card is easy to take, with cheap price and better quality in US.
HDD is a little bit heavy and shakeness is not good during you trip.
PSU is heavy also, and you can get a 400W as 300CNY in China, i believe is not much higher than in US, also with a case box.
I suggest 19" LCD, Eg: An acer 19" LCD is 1000CNY in China, but a 17" acer LCD needs 950CNY.
