http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/digital/canon_eos_xsi_vs_xti_vs_4 0D.html

450D Pros:
Newer
Lighter
12MP
Cheaper

40D Pros:
More rugged
Rear-dial
TopLCD
C1-C3 (Custom Modes)
6.5 frames per second
bigger buffer

If you're just starting, you might not even be able to use all the features of a 450D. But if you're a fast learner, and if you feel you'll outgrow the 450D very soon, get the 40D. For most people, even the 450D is more than they can handle. Ultimately it's up to you to decide.

Thanks r8dhex!

I'll try out the Canon 450D...

I hope I can use it for a year and a newer version of the 40D will come out by then.

Factor that made me decide: Cheaper, Newer, 12MP (I cannot imagine the difference with the 10.1 though), and being a newbie with DSLRs, I would be able to learn and maximize my the usage of a semi-pro or pro camera.

Thanks again...

Huh?? The newer version already came out. It's called the 50D and replaced the 40D already.

450D is a very decent camera. Expect to pay around 5000 rmb with the 18-55mm kit lens.
