Hi! I just joined Shanghai expat as I will be visiting Shanghai for the next 2 months with the possibility of relocation. After browsing the boards I noticed a Sat and a Sun meetup. Just wondering what happens at each. |

There is no set agenda or program for these coffee meetings. they are just a place for people to meet other people, new friends, old friends, to chat, to share Shanghai stories and info, share a coffee and sometimes lunch. Basically it is up to you what you bring to the meeting and what you take away from it. The only things we ask is no business solicitations and that you participate (no sitting in the corner ). Hope to see you at one of these coffee meetings when you get here! |

one has got to be dumber than a doorknob to post an ad here in this thread. oh well.
Anyhow, this Saturday after the coffee meet, we plan to head over to the Chili cook off so there will be no organized lunch per se
That said, anyone interested in meeting to go to the chili cook off at Bubbas is welcome to come by coffee first. |

Hello you guys!
I've always wanted to join a coffee meeting, but I'm kind of shy  , and also I couldn't get up early enough  . But I've been in Shanghai for almost three months now, and I still don't know people outside work except for a few.
Weekends are starting to become almost dreadful to me (as I usually end up home alone). Being alone is not much of a big deal to me, but feeling alone is. I hope I can join you guys this weekend, and maybe get to know some friends. |

The Chili Cook-off sounds pretty fun. too bad I won't be in Shanghai yet. Really looking foward to meeting everyone as I don't really know anyone in Shanghai besides relatives.
A bit of background on me: I was born in Shanghai but have lived mostly in New York for the past 20 years. Currently I just quit my job to do some traveling. Will be in Shanghai for the next 2 months and hoping that I will like it enough to relocate here. =) |
