Where could I find a good website designer to create my website for a relatively cheap price? I am open to working with anyone as long as they speak enough English. I don't need anything too complex, just something simple, modern and intuitive.
Does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions?

Hi customjd,
My good friend is a web designer and will work with you every step of the way to make you satisfied and cooperate towards your goal. He speaks fluent English and also nearly fluent Mandarin. You can see his work here on a website which I have him doing for me currently. He is nearly finished. How much are you looking to pay and approximately how many pages would the website need? Do you have logos and everything else prepared and a general idea about the content of the site?
He's done other sites in the past but here are his current works:

If you're interested, his price would be extremely reasonable. I could have had our site made by a chinese company locally using translators and it would have been a huge fiasco. My friend is truly top notch in the service area.
Give me some details on what you want done and prices you're thinking.

Oh, and each site is custom, he never works from a template. So you'll know you're getting good value and not just a rehashed idea. |

I wish. He put more time into our website than I thought would originally take so I told him I'd help him find more work.
If you're skeptical whether I'm lying you can just ask him a question in Chinese and then ask me the same thing. The difference will be readily apparent  |

If you're interested, I can help. I do this sort of thing on the side and have created a few websites. I use Microsoft Expression Web along with Adobe Photoshop. I know HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, and JavaScript along with a bunch of other tools to make websites interesting.
