I find that children of divorce or other non-standard circumstances are far more interesting. |

it's called controlling. it's not good either. |
Not if they have no personality of their own. Then it's called helping. =P |

Kalan, the girls you're banging probably don't know how to express themselves properly, and if they did, you'd be disappointed by their taste. Want to know what music they like? Just look at the Chinese popchart and pick anything on the top 10. Want to know what they're reading? Just go to the magazine stand...
If you want someone with a personality, you're looking in the wrong place. Just do what most guys do here and mold her into what you want. |
I'm not banging anyone. I'm trying to find the right one first. Thus, the OP. If I was banging every girl who's trying to get me these days, I'd have at least a dozen in the sack! And then a bunch of them would turn psycho and jealous..... I'd be living like jeffinflorida afraid to answer my door |
It only takes one. You take that risk even if you only bang one girl a year.
| KalanStar wrote: |
| I don't want to mold her into anything... I've had women try to do that to me and in the end, even though they claimed to love me, I had the feeling they didn't like me very much. Molding = manipulation, and that's ok if your intellectually under developed or full of yourself, but I passed though that stage in middle school. |
If they have no personality of their own, molding = helping. At the very least they can learn what you like and whether or not they're comfortable being that. If not, then you both can move on. If so, she'll be really into that and you can both be happy. If you're expecting there to be some shining personality underneath the vapid exterior, prepare for disappointment. At the end of the day you'll just get some shallow regurgitation of what a magazine told her she should like.
You: "What's your dream, baby?"
VapidGirl: "I want own clothing store, make fashions like Gucci!"
You: "Oh God, why did I get you pregnant..."
VapidGirl: "We have baby now, you give me money!"
You: (loads a gun, points it at your own head, pulls trigger)

That's amazing, can't believe you keep on meeting those girls who do not have their own thinking. Maybe you are megnetic to them only. Not all the people are like that. |

I attract all women, not just one type... so it's taking a long time to cycle through them all trying to find the right one... I thought positing on asifriendfinder might narrow the search a bit, but averaging 9 interested contacts/email per day on there is just prolonging the struggle
Seriously, as far as who's attracted to me... it seems regardless of their level of experience, they all think I'm a playboy to which I respond "I wish I were a playboy! It'd make my life a helluvalot easier!"
In regards to molding, I find differences to be attractive. Having a girl who always agrees and always likes the same things I do gets boring!!! |

Do Chinese women know that some foreign men like their girlfriend to have their own opinions and life? I've been out with Chinese girls who just sit there, want to listen to me talk, and when I ask them a question, they turn red and just say: "You're so handsome!" Although that is good to hear every now and then, I'd rather hear their own thoughts.
So how can a foreigner get a honest answer about easy things like habits and hobbies? |
The similar things also often happened to me. I have hanged out and dated some laowai s. In the bar, they ask me what drink I want to order. Then they will tell the waiter they want to order what I want. When I am talking the interesting things happened in my company or something else, they just stare at me for long time and say "you have a beautiful eyes."or "you are pretty. i like you".... I feel a little uncomfortable coz this guy seems to have no interest in what i am talking, he is just thinking of ....
So KalanStar, do you still think only Chinese women have no their own oppinion? |

I don't think they don't have an opinion I'm trying to find out how to get to know their opinions.

You've discovered that guys can be airheads too. Congrats! I'm reminded of a conversation I overheard (actually just a guy talking to a chick in the park). All the guy talked about was his car, his buddies, and how much he could drink while the girl made listening noises (I don't think she was really listening, who would?). I thought at the time, what would this guy do if this girl were a award winning author or brain surgeon and started telling him about her day or work... probably he would have said something like, "I really like yer tits" In the end, I thought his mom should have gotten an abortion |

Culturally speaking, if you're looking for women with deep thoughts, you've picked the wrong country. |

^ Is there any country where the women are known for their thinking?
Men think, philosophize, women don't. |

Wow! Men think but women don't! Me thinks you don't think too much yourself!
How many women in America watch Oprah or Dr. Phil??? How many American men watch Spike, and talk about cars and football all the time? Lots, I'm guessing. I wouldn't say Americans, or any other Western group are known for their amazing intellect.
I've met more ditsy b*tches in N. America than in China.
I haven't got much help here so far... all I've gleaned is that foreigners think Chinese women are shallow and stupid and the women of their own race are so much more interesting... thanks for sharing your racist prejudices, but it doesn't help me. |

Hahaha, if you've met MORE ditsy chicks in N.America, it's pretty clear that you are ATTRACTING ditsy chicks wherever you go. Clearly you're on the path of fail and location is going to be irrelevant for you.
Overall though, if you're looking for more intelligent women, I'd look in places like Sweden and Finland, where the women are a lot more spirited and encouraged to follow their dreams and... well hell, to have dreams at all. I'd also look in areas of the U.S. towards the coasts. New York, California, Washington. Canada isn't a bad place to check either. France if you can't stand stuck-up people. Certain areas of Britain, etc.
Basically places where women's rights, feminism, and the women's suffrage movements happened. |

I'm not attracting them (ditsy b*tches), there just everywhere in N. America, the continent that produced Birtney Spears and Paris Hilton
In Sweden and Finland, the women are so empowered that the men are the b*tches no thanks!
N. American women, smart or not, often look good until the honeymoon is over, then they gain weight and blame it on being married, 10kgs on average (btw: men there gain 5kgs after marriage on average).
When I lived in Eastern Germany, the women there saw the West German gals as unempowered, ditsy housewives... They (E. Ger.) were liberated because they were commies I guess it all depends on your perspective... equality = communism you know?!
Anyway, I don't really care where they're from anymore. They can't be loud, fat, or stupid and we have to share some common interests if they wanna date me. |

Why doesn't OP check into university grads or women business owners? Or girls with older brothers, psychology of birth order has shown that 2nd born children of a different gender than the 1st have very strong personalities. |

Ahhhh, the only truely amazing intellect out of that group is Frida Kahlo, and she's Mexican
as for Hollywood and modern American politicians, well, I'd have to say it doesn't matter if their men or women, they don't make the grade either
But yeah, there are truely a lot of remarkable and inteligent American, Canadian, British, German, Italian etc., oh, and Chinese women!!!!! |

You could ask them questions through e-mails, they probably will feel more comfortable to unveil their thoughts without digression on looking at the handsome guy sitting opposite to them lol |

Many, MANY young women live lives like this:
Go to work, play MSN all day, go home, eat, watch Prison Break on YouKu in their bedroom, shower, sleep.
On days off, sleep, watch tv, sleep - maybe MAYBE go shopping.
To say that the average Shanghai girl's life is mundane is a huge understatement.
I tell people what I do at the weekend and I get told my life is 'colourful'. WTF? |
