i don't think so.
gf looked into that, most of places (apparels, make-up) she shops at in USA, do not offer international shipping to china from their website.

...or do that for extra money.

I did a search for Clinique on TaoBao.

Maybe a lot of fakes but also real stuff.

the question is not if a company has a store location in china.
the question is if you can shop online from their usa wesbite and ship to china.

you missed the point completely.

To clarify.. Im not concerned with ordering online from a company that is IN China.
I am concerned whether or not I can order items from outside China and have them shipped to China.
Is that a possibility? Cosmetics, skincare, wine clubs, clothes, shoes, wine clubs?
I suppose I'd have to check with the initial company in which I would be ordering from.

Will I find issue in regards to whether or not my shipments make it to me if they do ship to China. Theft from the deliverers? Thgeft when the items get to China before they make it to my door?

Can I order from the UK?

We don't know WHAT you want ordering and from WHICH company/website. Simply way is - contact them by email and ask. As fWerrF right noticed.. not ALL american companies wish to ship overseas because of high value of scamming and loses.

PS: Crime rate in China is lower in times then in UK, so if any happened - check THERE.

Fen09,

You can order, but there is no gurantee you will receive the shipment. Sometimes they go into twilight zone. Best is not to order items that are too valuable and have it shipped. There is always a risk.

Wine clubs? what's that? A club as in a cavemen club for wine? or?
Cosmetics, maybe you will need to order from outside of China.
Clothes, maybe, if you can't find your sizes here. There is a Marks and Spencer here.

Best is, why don't you fly over here to check things out first? Do a recce trip or something.

root can prolly find you that one company that does ship to prove he is right.
but most of companies do not. amazon, zappos, victoria secret, drugstore.com, etc etc etc.

some sites u might be able to select china as shipping address, but orders do not go through eventually.

for cosmetics, skincare, there is this site www.sasa.com, hong kong company with china location, u can order online from. but if u can, go to hong kong on weekends, go to sasa stores, also its main competitor bonjour, those 2 chains have store locations at every street corner, sell all kinds of stuff you possibly need, they have brand name items at a discount (grey market but authentic).

Actually sometimes (like from Amazon) it depends on the product you want to buy. Books they ship to China, have many friends who've had no trouble with this. But then some items are restricted Amazon info on that here

But the best way would be to find it out for yourself. As people have mentioned HK is a really nice place for shopping, return flight less than 2000 RMB. From what my girlfriend bought last time it seems like the prices on cosmetics are about 30-50% cheaper than Shanghai.

ur right prolly. i was not buying books thats for sure Laughing
bottom line its hassle, and no go most of time. any purchase in significant amount they need the billing address matching and the system can not verify non-usa address.

This forum is supposed help people who are here or are coming here....That's why she asking questions of people who live here and can offer answers to her questions, before she gets here....WHAT SHE DOESN'T NEED IS YOU TELLING HER TO FLY OVER FIRST TO CHECK THINGS OUT, BEFORE SHE COMES HERE....

So, if you see a wall (GW, GFW, NO SHIP, etc) before you - that just a small test.

Lady Fen....Remember there are 1.5 billion chinese people who get everything they need in China....You should do fine.....

I think you will find most thing you need in China...but you won't find everything...

I'm not a big shopper and I go back to the states 6 or 7 times a year so for me bringing things from home is easy....WHAT I HAVE NOTICED IS THE AIRPORT IN KOREA HAS REALLY GREAT DUTY FREE SHOPPING....YOU COULD FLY TO KOREA (ITS CHEAP FROM SHANGHAI) FOR THE DAY AND NEVER LEAVE THE AIRPORT AND SHOP....SHO...SHOP....
