Difference being, I don't troll around Chinese language forums dispensing such nuggets of wisdom.

when you find a ayi tell her how you want things done and stick to it, this is the most important. but in general if you pay penuts you get mokeys so dont expect anything more.

What do you even mean?

I mean **** YOU. Is it England English ?

Or: i want to have you sometime somewhere.

Well, really. There's no need for that.

I merely made a joke (only mildly funny, I admit) about ayis plotting to overthrow the powers that be via the OP's agency.

Pfff, this forum has so many hot-heads. First fWerrF, now this reprobate.

I hope all of you guys can enjoy your life in Shanghai. Some things are terrible, like transportation you mentioned, but think of the bright side. Some of my expats friends moved to Shanghai, just coz in Shanghai they can easily find everything they want. But comparatively Suzhou is a small city. It's hard to get satisfied.

The best FREE advice I can give you at this time, is that you trained your ayis to be people first, ayi 2nd.

The rest will cost you some cigs and baijiu... Shocked

Klick, the training part is the most important part. My goal is to make every ayi has the ability to represent my agency. But the problem is my business is still small now, I do train my ayis some tips on being a housemaid in expats family. But I don't train everyone of them cleaning skill, cooking skill. But when I introduce them to my customers, I will make sure they do have these skills.
I do hope my agency can get more customers and I can get more money to train these ayis and better satisfy your guys.

Klick wrote:
Are you planning to train your ayis, or take their word for it when they tell you what they know?

In the UK we used a (franchise) company called Myhome. The first thing that happened when we called them was, the owner of my local franchise came to my home, walked around it with me, and sat with me to discuss what exactly I expected. He detailed for me the training that all of their cleaners are given before they are allowed to go to work in a client's home. I suggest that if you can assure your clients that your ayis have completed a training session in the types of cleaning products and the types of tasks an expat family might expect, people will appreciate this. Also for childcare - I think it would benefit ayis who will be expected to do childcare if they are given a bit of insight into different philosophies in child care that they might encounter with foreign parents.

Root, as I already mentioned before. My website will go public after about 1 month. Thanks for being interested in my website and my business. But don't imagine me to as someone who just wants to make money. My goal of running this business is to help expats. I used to be a Mandarin trainer, and I found that most of my students suffered from their Chinese experience because of unqualified housemaid and all kinds of service, especially China telecom and real estate property management company.
I want to help you guys to solve these problems.

Sincerely
George

Lostatsea, thanks for your suggestion, currently the ayi was paid by my customers, I do hope to expand my business and have some self-owned ayi, haha.

Hydro, I agree with you. The world develops coz people know to tolerate others. I am a native Chinese, but I always consider myself to be a world citizen, although I still have to get visas to visit other countries though, haha.

Anyway, we cannot ask everyone in the world to speak and write the same English, at least I am trying to communicate with you guys.

Thanks for your support.

Haha, I have been using Linux for years, but I am still a newbie in Linux world. My website is blocked by Chinese government. It has nothing to do with my technical skill. Lol, that's a good point though.
