Post subject: COULDN'T GET AN F VISA IN HK?!

Has this happened to anyone before?

I went to Japan Travel Agency on Granville Road in HK (very reputable according to posts here) and tried converting my Z Visa to an F Visa. I don't know if they were being jerks at the agency or if there was new guy working at the visa office but they said I had to come back in a few more days when the Visa actually expires! I'm a Canadian citizen and this shouldn't off happened.

Any feedback on this?

That price as quoted is rather high, other companies are cheaper - they are not doing much for you, after all...

Yes, you can have problems getting an F visa if you have a Z visa or X visa in your passport, you left China before getting a residence permit (i.e. before those 30 days were up), etc. It happened to me - several agencies refused or suggested I neede to go in person to the Chinese embassy.

In the end, my embassy warned me that if I lost my passport, they would have to issue me with a new one that would not contain any visas... of course, I was extra careful once I heard that
