| Post subject: Import bulk products and re-packaging them here in China |
Dear All,
Just wondering is anyone has any suggestions about packaging products here in China.
Currently, our products (essential oils) are being imported to China by our chinese agents. We are considering the idea of setting up a company in China, and importing our products in bulk as well as the labels, bottles and machinery to package them here in China. Once they are packaged, the products would then be distributed to our agents.
Does anyone know if this is feasible? Would the WFOE be a trading or manufactoring?
What would be the ad. a disad.?

A little more information might be helpful....On the surface anything imported in Bulk , packaged, labeled, in China should be cheaper than sending in already packaged product to China....Printing and Labor cost are usually much cheaper in China.... |

Yes, the idea is to import the products in Bulk, and then we would be bottling them and labelling them here in China ourselves. My question is, what kind of WFOE would this be considered to be, a trading WFOE or would it be manufactoring?
Also, on the packaging would be need to specify that the products have been packaged in China e.g. Made in Germany, Packaged in China.
The reason for this is the initial start up capital is quite different between a trading and manufactoring WFOE.
If anyone has any advice or could refer me to anyone who might be able to help us, I would appreciate it very much. |
