| Post subject: State Of Origin 1 - On-screen Where? |
I know this could just as easy fit in "Looking For" as in "Looking for a bar to watch State Of Origin 1 in".
I know ABC Asia Pacific's showing the odd NRL match on free satellite, but:
A) Are they showing the SOOG?
B) Anyone know of a bar that'll be showing it?

ABC Asia Pacific is showing the game from 5.30pm Shanghai time. I have never seen ABC in mainland China so not sure if anyone here will be showing it. Maybe O'Malleys? I will have relatives from Aus visiting then so I hope we can watch it somewhere.
BTW nice avatar. I lived in Newtown for a while.

I know that The Blarney Stone can get ABC Asia Pacific, but at present, the ABC Asia Pacific online tv schedule isn't playing ball. I wonder if anyone else can get it to work and check the listing for next Wednesday night.
dek: Thanks for the compliment. Also, it could be worse - you could have been born there and be stuck with following the 'er... ...exceedingly variable fortunes of the Jets for a lifetime.

OK - the ABC Asia Pacific State of Origin 1 broadcast time's confirmed by their site - as Dek said, it's being broadcast on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 17:30.
Anyone with any ideas where it'll be on-screen?

I might just be talking to myself here, but I have posted the results of my inquiries in the Announcements section. Here's a copy of it for those who might be interested:
Attention all Shanghaiexpat Blues and Maroons fans - join us to watch the first round of the interstate war that is the State of Origin Rugby League.
It will be televised on the big screen at the Blarney Stone next Wednesday night starting at 5.30pm local time.
