| Post subject: JIAO TONG SUMMER PROGRAM |
I will be arriving in Shanghai at the start of July and I am thinking of enrolling on the Jiao Tong Chinese Language Summer Program. Its just for a month and I figure it'll be a good way to meet fellow foriegners.
Would love any info, on the university, its courses, or the xu jia hui lu area. I don't want to live on campus so will be looking for a room in a flat nearby. Whats this area like to live in? Any other recomendations? |

I stayed in Jiao Tong U last time I was in SH (Dec/Jan) & returning in the 1st week of July. Jiao Tong's summer program starts in mid July & ends in August. I'm not going to these classes this time, but will stay in the area.
Xujaihui is very nice & convenient, 15-20 min. from the subway station, plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. etc. within walking distance. I also run into many English speaking Americans or Europeans. I know you can get an apartment for about 3-4k rmb/month, but I don't know too much of the details.
There are a few in this community that live or work in the area. There may be more helpful responses....
Hope this help, |
