Post subject: How long does it take for a visa

I live out of China and have been selected to teach in a public university. They have been very helpful in answering all my questions. They have even sent me a copy of the contract. Instead of troubling them anymore, I would like to know:
Once the offer is confirmed by me, how long does it take to receive the offer letter and other legal documents (I know very little about these) before I can go to the Chinese Embassy in my country?
Once I go to the Embassy, how long will it take to get a Z visa issued?
How easy or how difficult are these procedures?

How long to receive the letter from them.. you should ask them. It depends on how efficient and motivated they are.

Once you have all the right paperwork and you go to the Embassy in your country.. it also depends. I would pay the expedite even if you had a lot of time.. cuts down on possiblity of loosing anything. Give yourself enough time in case they decide not grant a Z visa for some reason ( sometime they might want to you arrive on a tourist visa and get it changed here).
