Post subject: Pet transport to Shanghai and costs

I have contacted a few pet transporters in HK and they say about $5000.00 US. I think this is outrageous. Does anyone have any information of whether or not I can get an affordable price and maybe the names of some agiences who I can caontact. I have a standard poodle in Manhattan.

I am in Philippines now and an officer of a dog club here in Manila. MY family will be in SHanghai this Sept. Some breeders here sent their dog to US for breeding then the stud owner sent it back to manila. All they do is pay the airfare fee which is 800USD (if that is round trip it cost 1600USD). When the dog arrived they will pick it up in the airport. Thats how simple it is here.

Maybe China has some few hundred RMB fees for your dog but i don't think it will cost you more than 200RMB. I read it somewhere here but i don't remember the exact figure.

If you are in Shanghai, i suggest to ask your friend to sent it to you thru UNITED or any airlines you wish and put your name in the vari-kennel and pick it up in the airpot. However, if you are still in US, simply carry your dog when you move in Shanghai.

uh, see my post on bringing a dog. Are you just having the thing SHIPPED? That is expensive. You would do better to book someone a RT ticket and have them bring it back for you as one of their pieces of luggage. Of course the document prep may be difficult if you aren't around.

Send me a PM, something is wrong. And, are you going to HK or Shanghai?
