Post subject: Raves and Parties in Shanghai

I just read the posting about dino and now I'm curious. Is there a rave or house or party scene in shanghai? I'm from vienna and will be moving over to you in september. In vienna we are very much into big clubbings and raves - are there such in shanghai? I've been in shanghai two times and I did party a little but I never found any real big clubbings...
thanks for your help

If you want europop/trance/energy type of music, you can check out Rojam. Its on hua hai lu right next to xintiandi. On the 3rd floor of this shopping mall.

Post subject: DJ nights @ Rojam

Wow this is great news! is there a website where i can see a calendar of dj's, or a place to grab flyers? I'm only in shanghai until the end of the month, so hopefully I can catch a good international dj before I go:)

There is another Beach Party rave coming up at the end of July at Dino Beach (Tropical Tempest). I know at least one DJ (French) who will be spinning there. It should be better than the last one (Sat nite) which was cold and windy due to unforseen weather conditions, but became very nice about 4 AM. The water was the warmest place to be! Not sure of the date but will be the last weekend of the month.

Beach Party ? I am moving to Shanghai in August.
Heard its on the east coast of China. Are there actual beaches?
accessible easily to the city dwellers? how far away are these beaches and how long toget there via public transportation and do they have cheap overnight hostels etc? thanx.
do i get to hang out on the beach then? Smile
