| Post subject: Where is a good place to get a massage? |
Hey, I got coupla questions actually.
First off, where is a cool place to get like a hair cut, massage, nothing special. jus a nice decent local place.
Second, are Mastercard used just as widley as Visa?? Here in the States, if the place take Visa, it takes Mastercard. Just wondering if its the same.
Third, Where is a good gym, I think imma be near MeiLong area, or maybe pudong, Any comments would be helpful Thanks

James - tons of decent places to get a massage . . . Dragonfly is especially good, not too pricey, clean and professional. There are two or three locations in Puxi. Haircut - tons and tons of hair places, although I have heard mixed results from other men about the quality of the cuts . . .
I have never had a problem with Mastercard or Visa - if one is taken, the other is generally taken. However, the number of places that accept credit cards is not as plentiful as in the US. American Express can be more difficult.
Can't help with the gym . . . I don't know those areas as well. Sorry. |

I was never impressed with the massages at Dragonfly -- went a few times at different locations. I had better massages at Diva Life and Apsara. Also, Aqua Villa is very good but very expensive.
Credit Cards are usually all taken but like Magnolia said, not that many places take them.
Haircuts are luck of the draw. My husband had excellent cuts at 5 RMB places (as well as bad ones) and he had horrible cuts at 100 RMB places (as well as good ones). |

I had a great massage at Spa Rosa ( and there are coupons for it in the discount section).
Here is an article about them from Yu

Tried many places and you have to explore! Because its usually not the place but the masseuse. Even in the same place different masseuse give different quality feel. Same with the hair cuts. Its the Stylist not the shop.
Its all luck.
I don't know why people like to reccomend Dragonfly? Expensive and doesn't really give a better massage than most other shops that are half the price. Dragonfly is also quite uncomfortable crowded environment. |
