Not sure how successful your recruitment drive is so far. But just a small suggestion, you better stress that this research is for academic purpose (as I assume from your e-mail address). And if you are using a quantitative approach, my suggestion is to do an online version. I have had expereince with paper and pen version sent to me (from Monash as well) but decided it too troublesome to send back. There are online survey software that allows setting of user-name and password that will help participants to remain anonymous.

But if you are intending to condct face to face interviews or use qualitative method, you would better have someone bi-lingual to help you. I have friends who speak conversational English and dating foreigners but would rather speak in Chinese when discussing things more personal, as thoughts are generated based on the language they are most familiar with, and often equivalent expressions in English do not come naturally for them, and meanings can be lost.

The topic you are working on will be an interesting subject to investigate. Good luck with you study!

Thanks for the suggestions. Since I did mention that the recruitment is meant for research purposes then it should be obvious that this is indeed an academic matter.
I am holding a qualitative based research. I ran through the government statistics though in previous studies. As for recruitment, this is might be tougher then I thought, but I could be better off posting some ads in Chinese websites in which I can get more exposure to Chinese women.
I would appreciate all the help and suggestions I can get obviously. I wouldn't mind holding some of the interviews or even all of them in Chinese, I'm quite comfortable in conversational Chinese. However, I'm mainly looking at women that are also conversational in English, since this may be regarded as their "internationalist" certificate in contacting the world outside China and people who are not Chinese. Some phrases or expression in the interviews may be expressed in Chinese when the meaning may not be clear.
If your friends who date foreigners answer to the criteria I sent forth I would be intersted to know if they might like to participate in this study. If so, I can first send them the explanatory statement regarding my research and if they will be happy with that and will be willing to take part then we can move on.
This research is indeed conducted for Monash University.
Thank you again.
