Agree with ocho97's May 18, 2006 post about Jimix for Italian pizza.
Those looking for American pizza may not like it (light on the sauce, cheese, crust, etc.). That's what you get with a real Italian chef.
Located on Beijing Xi Lu east of Shimen Er Lu.

That's Amore down in Luwan also had a decent Italian pizza.

Tried both locations of NYSP. I will eat there again. The down side is my slice selection is based on which pizza does not look as old as the others. I want to try the pepperoni when it does not look 3 days old. Tomato & basil = good. Brooklyn was ok.

What the hell is NYC style pizza? Been in California for 24 years and have had Chicago style pizza, but have NEVER even heard of NYC style pizza. Round Table Pizza--the BEST in the world. Smile I guess Italians wouldn't agree.

They need to open a California Pizza Kitchen in Shanhgai. Closest international one would be in Hong Kong I guess.

What is up with New Yorkers and their own style of food?

New York Style Cheesecake
New York Style Clam Chowder
and now New York Style Pizza

Damn arrogant bastards. Laughing

I'm from New York, and I think when your from the best city in The United States and maybe in the World you can be a little arrogant. Shanghai people are the same way.
Most people in California suffer from small penis complex. They have small dicks so they try to make up for it by being showie. That's your problem.
Here are some facts, simple as Casey would you can look it up.
Pizza: is not from Italy, it was invented in Brooklyn, New York by Italians.
Clam Chowder was white and it came from New England. it has creme base and is very good, however a New Yorker from Manhattan made it with a soup base, it is red, people liked it and would ask for the red , or Manhattan Style Clam Chowder

Cheese cake was made with Riccotta cheese , it is very good and it is very heavy and wet.
Looking for a dry cheese cake, a New York baker came up with using cream cheese instead of riccotta. People liked it and it became known as New York Style Cheese Cake.
The Coney Island Hot Dog, was hot Dog that had it own flavor and size. Today people all over the world know Coney Island Hot Dogs.
Pizza is a matter of personal taste. some people like thick crust, some like thin, some like chewy pizza some chrispy.

The Cailfornia Pizza Kitchen is best known for its Salads, and their biggest selling salad is Asian. Furgetaboutit.

So I am sorry you(if you are male, or your husband or bf if you are female) have a small penis.
Enjoy your pizza kitchen white pizza and your cailfornia raisins

Post subject: pizza tip

Order the Vegetable pizza from Papa John's and ask 'em
to put chicken on it. Thin crust. Its a goodie and they don't
charge extra for the chicken (at least not yet).

After 3 years of living in Shanghai, the best pizza I've ever had is the deep dish at CJ Chicago Pizza. It's FANTASTIC. Really, tangy sauce, great cheese. Perfection.

I just went to a small place called Mamamiya. Somewhere out past Gubie ( take away menu does not have address) Delicious thin crust pizza. My new favorite place, I just wish it was closer to Jing'an.

There's a new place, very small, in Taikang Lu called Pizza e Pasta. Haven't tried the Pasta, but the Pizza is damn good. None of this New York style Sh1t here. Proper pizza, good dough, good toppings. Owned by local fella, speaks good english, very friendly. Worth a try. Nice little venue he has too.

I do realize that the Dutch reputation is more about weed than pizzas.. Although I do want to suggest a restaurant as well. Searching for the best pizza in Shanghai I found Melrose Nan Fang Store suprisingly good.

And I think I am not talking trash, I worked four years at a pizza restaurant when I was only a schoolkid.

www.pizzashanghai.com, check it out and tell me whether I should do some more research..

My first experience of having pizza was at the Pizza Hut with my girlfriend. I thought the taste of pizza was too bad, it was nothing more than a big fried Chinese cake named DA Lang Shao Bing (大郎烧饼).

The best funny story, pizza invented in NY.......so the Europe was discovery by the Apaches, the first men on the moon was Chinese ect...eheeeheh, I give you 100 points for your funny story
For your info, pizza as a caine of many bread in the world in the past was nothing than only a bread, in Naples they invented to put some tomato sauce ( Tomatoes arrived from America with Cristoforo Colombo ) and in a occasion of a vist of the king of Italy in Naples a pizzamen put on top of tomato a mozzarella cheese and fresh basil and a make a pizza for the Queen ( Queen Margerita ) for give a dish that represent the italian flag Tomato ( Red ) Mozzarella ( white ) Fresh Basil ( Green ) from there the name of the famous first pizza in the word keep the name of the Queen, pizza Margherita..................this is history, no funny stories. ciao
