What the hell is NYC style pizza? Been in California for 24 years and have had Chicago style pizza, but have NEVER even heard of NYC style pizza. Round Table Pizza--the BEST in the world. Smile I guess Italians wouldn't agree.

They need to open a California Pizza Kitchen in Shanhgai. Closest international one would be in Hong Kong I guess.

What is up with New Yorkers and their own style of food?

New York Style Cheesecake
New York Style Clam Chowder
and now New York Style Pizza

Damn arrogant bastards. Laughing

I'm from New York, and I think when your from the best city in The United States and maybe in the World you can be a little arrogant. Shanghai people are the same way.
Most people in California suffer from small penis complex. They have small dicks so they try to make up for it by being showie. That's your problem.
Here are some facts, simple as Casey would you can look it up.
Pizza: is not from Italy, it was invented in Brooklyn, New York by Italians.

Clam Chowder was white and it came from New England. it has creme base and is very good, however a New Yorker from Manhattan made it with a soup base, it is red, people liked it and would ask for the red , or Manhattan Style Clam Chowder

Cheese cake was made with Riccotta cheese , it is very good and it is very heavy and wet.
Looking for a dry cheese cake, a New York baker came up with using cream cheese instead of riccotta. People liked it and it became known as New York Style Cheese Cake.
The Coney Island Hot Dog, was hot Dog that had it own flavor and size. Today people all over the world know Coney Island Hot Dogs.
Pizza is a matter of personal taste. some people like thick crust, some like thin, some like chewy pizza some chrispy.

The Cailfornia Pizza Kitchen is best known for its Salads, and their biggest selling salad is Asian. Furgetaboutit.

So I am sorry you(if you are male, or your husband or bf if you are female) have a small penis.
Enjoy your pizza kitchen white pizza and your cailfornia raisins

You are joking, aren't you? Pizza is Italian. It was invented in Naples by Italians and then exported to America. Don't try to reinvent history. You just put up a bad show Laughing

Spaceboy I think you're on Pluto...

PS you think the Italians invented Pasta....

Ahahah! From a laid back discussion about a cheerful topic like the origin of pizza, you suddenly switch to serious matters like war heroes? WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! You have got some issues mate! How can you equate a culinary delicacy with war? C'mon, I don't see the connection!

I was raised in Rome, Paris and London, but I could not find the book you mentioned in those city libraries. Next time I go to NYC, I will pay a visit to its city library and see if I can find the infamous Smallest Book. BTW, I heard that the next best selling book will be "Real War Heroes: How the Americans do it in Iraq". You should check it out maybe!

Cheers, Colonel!

Ask any Chinese - they invented pizza about 5000 years ago. Marco Polo brought it back to Italy, together with pasta, chianti, the Venice canals, large breasted women and hairy chests.

Marco Polo was never in China. He just made it up to claim travel expenses. Was he Chinese?

Went to de Marko again last night, great pizza as always.
Noticed a sign saying they were starting a delivery service soon.
Pizza cheaper than melrose and 1000% better.

Melrose does disgusting pizza - just a tonne of processed cheese and few dodgy toppings. Di Marcos is superb - as is their pasta. Papa Johns is very good, though pricey. Having said that, Pizza Hut is also pricey for what you get.

All they need to do to finish localizing it is add a handful of corn, a sprinkling of peas, some chicken necks, a little soggy boiled bai cai and a few mouse droppings.

The jing an pizza hut must serve one of the world's Three Worst Pizzas Ever.

Just ate a 9" pepperoni pizza at Hello Pizza, a little joint on Nanjing Lu between the Starbucks and Gate 7 of People's Park. Could've been a little crispier, but not bad at all!
