Post subject: How does a new expat get to meet new expat friends?
Hi,

I am arriving 5th August to be an English teacher.

How do I go about meeting other expats in Shanghai?

You cannot just wal into a bar and walk about to them and say hi to them and their group nof friends!

I guess the Saturday meeting for www.shanghaiexpat.com is a starting point.... any other ideas?

I will work near:

School 1 is close to Zhong Shan Park, on Wu Yi Road. School 2 (now our HQ) is close to Ren Min Square (People's Square), just off of the Nanjing Pedestrian Shopping Street.
