Post subject: Seeking information

Hi Everyone,

I am evaluating a possible relocation to Shanghai would appreciate if anyone can share some info on -

1. House Rent in or around Chengdu street / area (or other areas which are not too far and offer good value for money - please recommend) for a 2 Bed Room semi furnished apartment (basically would RMB 6000 be good for something decent in a decent locality not too far from Chengdu)

2. Is it easy to buy second hand cars - (both interms of avilability and prices - for lets say a 3-4 year old car ?

3. What does Chengdu mean ?

thanks a lot

Cheers Very Happy

1) no problem
2) yes but be prepared to pay a premium.. you can rent a car and driver for around the 5-6 thousand rate a month
3) Its the name of a city in Sechuan province and a street in Shaghai

You'll end up paying as much for the license as you would for the car. Driving here is just basically organized chaos. Everybody going everywhere seemingly without any rules or methods or plans. I would just take taxis everywhere. They know all the streets. You don't have to deal with the stress of driving (and parking--another HUGE hassle). In the end, it may be cheaper.
