Post subject: IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL MODERATING?

Firstly, nothing on this site has ever offended me. How could something from here offend me, considering what we expats see and experience in China every day.

Well almost nothing!

Deletion of post offends me and I guess many others. This site is what it is because of the colourful characters.

And a subject usually doesn't attract attention unless it is controversial. So I suggest you ease up on the moderation.

I would like to ask? Can a moderator be removed for offending a user?
You offended me with the removal of the posts I made describing Chinese men. I do not see you removing posts that paint foreigners in a bad light! A classic example is posts by Merdy.

If you keep this up I will have no option but to show you for the hypocrits that you are by collecting and copying all the posts I can find which are racist towards foreigners and posting them simultaneously in every forum to prove my point!

galaszuk,

Posts are deleted if they violate the TOS, which we hope all users will take the time to read. Posts are not moderated or deleted on the basis of whether they discuss foreigners or Chinese, but for what the posts contain.

Deleting posts or threads is a measure of last resort for moderators and we try not to do that often. However, every community needs to meet certain minimum standards of decorum.

If you run across a thread that you believe should be moderated (you mentioned a post by Merdy), then please PM the moderators. As much as we try to monitor all posts, it is not always possible.

As for your suggestion in the last paragraph, that would be counterproductive.

You apparently have some issues with the content on the forums. We value the free and open exchange of ideas on the forums, but like any community, on or off-line, there have to be minimum standards everyone follows.

Your recent post seems to suggest that you plan to disrupt the operation of this site:

Quote:If you wuold like to help me in my venture to stop this, then private message me. I feel that a co-ordinated attack would be the best option.

That would be unwise, galaszuk. While this site does not monitor PMs, other ways are available for identifying the source of problems.

You are free, within reason, to express your ideas and opinions on this site. However, launching any type of cyber-attack on this site would be dealt with severely and to the fullest extent of the law.

If you feel this site is overly-restrictive to the type of posts you want to see, maybe you should consider frequenting another site.

The fact of the matter is that you have sensored posts that spoke nothing but the truth . When I described Chinese men (I admit my description didn't paint a very nice picture of them) you deleted my post.

I DO NOT SEE YOU DELETE POSTS THAT DESCRIBE WESTERNERS IN A BAD LIGHT!

This is called Shanghaiexpat .com after all. Which to me seems like it should be for expats. Why don't the Chinese who are offended go to Chineselocals.com or something.

You moderators are such hipocrits!

Would showing all the people who frequent this site that you are selective in your sensorship. Baised even! Be that bad. I think not. So how would gathering posts that are offensive to Westeners and posting them simmultaneuosly in all forums be against the rules

IT WOULD ONLY BE POSTING POSTS THAT YOU YOURSELVES DEEMED OK!

YOU DO WHAT YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO. JUST AS I WILL!

Over and out

Well if you are unhappy just leave. Nobody is forcing you to come here. And you don't appear to be the kind that would be missed, and you definitely have not added any value so far other than complaining about Chinese people, the moderators,...Scratched record. Why not leave and let us all here be more ignorant by counting on your excellent insightful posts (no irony here, I swear).
