| Post subject: Noise canceling headphones |
Does anyone know where I can find noise canceling headphones in this bloody town?
My ingrate of a husband (who I actually love dearly) booked me a flight to the States in cattle class because the company would pay for it. My dad had offered to pay for the business class tickets. Still does, but hubby says tickets are cut and we can't change them.
anyway, I thought a pair of NC headphones would help the trip seem less grating. Besides, I could use a pair in my office, of all places.
Not particularly picky about the brand; Bose, Sony are good. Plane Quiet is supposed to be just as good as Bose for 1/3 the $, but they're only internet.
Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thansk,

Maybe, just maybe, depending on the airline you are flying, they will offer them on the in-flight duty free. Have seen them listed as an available item (not talking about SkyMall or the like) but I can't recall which airline had them.
Won't help until the flight attendents try to peddle the duty free stuff but if you are unable to find them here it may be worth a shot ...
Otherwise, Xu Jia Hui has a lot of electronics shops ... maybe they will carry them. Or the travel section of one of the better department stores ... maybe look around the luggage areas.
Best of luck!
BTW - do you actually have a flying squirrel?? That would be really cool ... |

Magnolia,
You're a genius! But, you're from NC, so it comes with the genes. I hadn't even thought about duty free. I'll probably have lots of time to poke around shops and such before we board. I'm flying United, but I don't think that's one of the airlines that offers them.
My girls aren't flying squirrels, but that's probably the closest description/ idea for them. It's kind of a cross between a flying squirrel and a koala bear. They're marsupials, not mammals. They live in trees and can glide up to 150 feet. I call it a controlled crash, the equivalent of a military hard landing. They sleep all day and play all night (my kind of critter). They are absolutely adorable, and they bond with you. Their teeth are like needles, and their claws can be if you don't clip them.
There are some great pictures of them at www.sugarglider.net. Go to the galleries. There are some pictures of babies and adults in their owner's hands. It gives you some idea of how small they are. I just love the little animals. But they don't travel well to begin with, 500 miles is about as far as you really want to move them (very stressful), and 8000 miles would probably kill them. Erik suggested we change their names to "lunch" and "dinner". I told him Schuie and Taz have worked just fine, and their names will not change.
More later.
