Post subject: Insects in Shanghai

Guys,

Just out of curiousity. I'll be coming over to Shanghain in 2 weeks time and I was wondering what the bug-situation was in Shanghai. Should I bring insect repellent against mosquitos, or can I do without? Normally I never have any problems with bugs eating me (maybe my blood is too poluted), but that can ofcourse be different in Shanghai.
Any advice? SHould I bring Deet?

No insect problems here in Shanghai. a few mosquitos here & there in the summer, and hardly any you will run into 2 weeks later. Ants are small here & their bites are not as potent as back in the States. Only problem is roaches if you don't live in a clean place or cook a lot and leave left overs on the table. All in all, you don't need any bug juice. Plus customs won't let it through anyway. What ever repellents you need is obtainable locally.
