there seems to be some confusion. I'm leaving Friday for HK but will be back in Shanghai for good on Nov. 26, I'd really like to stay updated with these social events. Especially for us youngins in our early 20s. Please take me off the list for tomorrow night but after the 26th, I'm game.

Friday night was fun! This is the first time in months I went out till 6 am. More people than i expected were there at pink8 bar, we're definitely growing. This meeting is held in every two weeks, but some of u guys suggested to make this a weekly event. We'll see how it goes.

Any suggestions for the location of the cafe/restaurant are welcome. Wink

Mentos thanks for arranging your gathering at Pink8. My name is John Liu. I'm the owner of Pink8. Just wanted to thank you all for coming by. If any of you come by again just ask for the owner. I'll arrange for some VIP discount cards for you.

Btw, I noticed you were looking for another restaurant location. I also own another restaurant in Gubei. Its called Pho#54. Its at the intersection of Gubei rd. and Huang Jin Chen Dao(yellow gold city path). I'm proud to say that most people say we have the best vietnamese pho in Shanghai.

I am the leisure channel manager for this website, which basically means that I put together events like the one you guys did last week as well as adding content to the site. Sounds like you guys had a good night! If you need any help in putting together future events, just let me know and I'll do whatever I can. I hope you will continue putting the young expat meetings together. I think we may be able to get better deals at some of the bars where we organize events if they know that we are working with ShanghaiExpat.

Everyone please check out the Tuesday night dinners too!!

great booze night with the earlier nice time at Pink8 on their club sandwiches.

well, people who know me and the few regulars - as i mentioned before about organising a weekend trip to wu xi or maybe hang zhou ..in a couple of weeks time. if interested drop the names or maybe we might ended up in suzhou like the last time !

hope we have a bigger crowd eh ?

Richard, great idea for suggestin a trip out of shanghai. Personally, I prefer hangzhou more than wuxi since people who have been to both places told me that hz is more worthwhile. Count me in if the trip is not on the weekend of DEC 4-5. Thx Wink

Btw, there's a basketball gathering every thu in an indoor gym; 30rmb/person. Call David shen, the organizer, for more details at 13816355670.

The gatherin is usually held in every two weeks, but some have suggested to have it every week. What do u guys think?

Maybe we can organize a dinner meeting on FRI n see how it goes. How does Brazilian BBQ opposite to the sh library sound? 66rmb/person for all u can eat.

My parents r coming to visit this fri, so I'm pretty much occupied during the weekend. That means I will NOT be organizing a meeting this week.

I Saw from another post (by bamse; laurent) that there are gonna be a few concerts sometime on SAT n possibly, a lunch gathering before that. Maybe BAMSE can provide us with more info n be the organizer for this SATURDAY's events? I'm sure some people would be interested (robert n richvenom just to name a few) I'm sure it'd help bamse a lot if u guys post/reply to his thread titled "saturday 20th is gonna rock!" also under "Recreation and Nightlife" instead of here.

I'll post the details of our next gathering for Fri, Nov26, either on Sunday or Monday. Have fun this saturday for those who r going to the concert! Wink

I guess I would be in for the coffee meeting on Saturday. Since they have great lunch menus for a price of only 45 RMB (incl. drink, soup, main meal and dessert) at Paulaner I would suggest having the next coffee meeting there. So lets meet at the Paulaner on Fenyang Lu at 1 pm on Saturday. Everybody who wants to be present, pls send me a private message.

Hey people ... i still am interested in the BBQ this friday if there are still a show of hands to those who is still keen in this.

Let's just pool together for this weekend of nice food and great booze. (guess i am drinking a little too much but i only drink over the weekend, for a week worth of booze over a weekend, kinda little huh?)
